Elkton Farm includes a certified “free range” Organic high grade poultry production plant that has set the best of national standards for over forty years.
Elkton Farm is situated directly between the Shenandoah National Park and the George Washington National Forrest along the banks of the Shenandoah River of Virginia.
Consisting of over fifty acres along the banks of the Shenandoah River — Elkton Farm currently maintains thirty-five acres of America’s most historically fertile farmland, produces over two million pounds per year of 100% certified ORGANIC and free range high grade poultry, and has dedicated nearly twenty acres to a private nature preserve.
Elkton Farm is one of the largest remaining intact parcels of the original Adam Miller/Mueller Farm. Cleared for agriculture as early as 1733 — the land was formally established as a farm in 1741. Today the Adam Miller/Mueller farm is recognized by the Commonwealth of Virginia as the “First Settler” in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. [link to PDF file here]
Elkton Farm’s year round and seemingly endless deep sourced spring water is legendary, noted as early as 1730. The Bear Lithia Spring, for example, is located less than a thousand feet away from Elkton Farm’s northeast border. Monitored and approved by the FDA, Elkton Farm’s “deep earth” water supply rates among the “purest” (by any professional measurement) of natural waters in North America — ideal for agricultural production and commercial bottling.
Elkton Farm’s management embraces and pursues new technologies and innovations in agriculture, while maintaining the leading standard for excellence set by the landowners over ten generations ago. Our mission is to preserve and enhance the environment that we treasure through sustainable and responsible land management while preserving and promoting local heritage and traditions.
Farm visits are by invitation only. Please contact us for more information. Thank you for visiting the Elkton Farm online!
